The National Health Service describe Counselling as “talking therapy that involves a trained therapist listening to you and helping you find ways to deal with emotional issues.”
As a counsellor I will respect you and your beliefs and offer you empathy, compassion and confidentiality. I will listen and encourage you to think, express and challenge your feelings.
As a counsellor I will not tell you what to do, make decisions or judgement on your situation. I will hold your space as we explore issue and concerns while identifying solutions.
As a counsellor I will work with you to find answers, coping strategies and direction to enable you to move forward in your life.
Counselling can be a daunting experience and taking the first step can be hard however it can bring understanding and self-knowledge. It can help you review your past and evaluate your present enabling you to find answers and an inner confidence to face the future.
